LG NOVA, the North America Innovation Center for LG Electronics, is making significant strides in West Virginia with the opening of new offices in Morgantown and Huntington. These cities, home to West Virginia University and Marshall University respectively, are key to LG’s strategy of expanding its footprint in the Appalachian region.

To celebrate the opening of the Morgantown office, LG hosted an Open House event on August 26th, inviting startups, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to explore the new space and learn about LG’s vision for innovation in the area. This event is just the beginning of LG’s efforts to foster technological growth in West Virginia.

In addition to opening these offices, LG NOVA is currently recruiting regional operations directors for both Morgantown and Huntington. The company anticipates hiring additional engineering and technical roles in the near future, contributing to the creation of 275 jobs in the state as announced earlier this year by Governor Jim Justice and LG Electronics CEO William Cho.

Demonstrating its commitment to driving innovation in West Virginia, LG NOVA has partnered with Marshall Health Network Inc. to launch Primefocus Health, a new digital health venture. Primefocus Health aims to address critical regional healthcare issues such as obesity, healthy aging, substance use disorder, and the unique challenges of rural healthcare. The collaboration with Marshall Health Network, which serves 1.4 million residents across 40 counties, is a major step in enhancing access to quality healthcare in the region.

Primefocus Health is also actively hiring for roles related to the implementation and support of its platform, further bolstering job creation and economic growth in the area. This initiative exemplifies how LG is leveraging its presence in West Virginia to drive both technological innovation and community development.

Dr. Sokwoo Rhee, LG Electronics corporate executive vice president for innovation and head of LG NOVA, emphasized the importance of collaboration with the state, highlighting its potential to create transformative technologies and positively impact the Appalachian region.
