BBG is thrilled to present our Juneteenth issue, a milestone that fills me with immense pride. This issue will be available in print later this week and is being shared with our valued newsletter readers first. As we commemorate Pride, Father’s Day, WV Day, and three years of BBG, it is with deep gratitude that we reflect upon our journey. Your unwavering support has been the driving force behind BBG’s progress, and we remain hopeful that 2023 will be the year we secure the funding and resources necessary to continue building this information highway for the long term.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our exceptional WVU interns, Jules Ogden and Katelyn Aluise,. Their invaluable contributions and unwavering support have played an integral role in the success of this issue. From writing to editing to organizing our distribution, their dedication has been instrumental.
Co-editing this edition is Leeshia Lee, a longstanding member of BBG whose role has continued to evolve and grow. We would also like to express our gratitude to Adam Payne, who has been providing valuable assistance with our social media efforts while simultaneously launching his own magazine, YNST.
I would like to acknowledge the dedication of our loyal writers and contributors, with a special mention for Kabrea James, who has single-handedly contributed six articles to this issue. Their talent and commitment have significantly enriched the content we present.
Last but certainly not least, I want to recognize Brenda Pinnell, our extraordinary graphic designer, as well as our sponsor, CEG (Community Education Group). Brenda’s artistic talent and extensive knowledge of the news industry have brought our words to life, while CEG’s support has been vital in allowing us to continue our mission of providing informative and empowering content to our community.
As I eagerly await your feedback on this issue, I am filled with gratitude, encouragement, and excitement. Thank you to our sponsor, CEG, for being an integral part of our community and for supporting our endeavors. Together, we will continue to educate, inform, and empower.
Thank you all.
