Ho Ho HOLD UP! BBG Christmas List Drops — And Santa Q Is #1

BBG’s 2025 Christmas List: Supporting Black-Owned Businesses Across West Virginia
Black By God is kicking off our 2025 Christmas List in the best way possible — with Charleston’s very own Santa Q, West Virginia’s Black Santa, who brings joy, culture, and pure holiday magic wherever he goes.
In a country where Black Santas are still rare in many communities, Santa Q is helping families across Appalachia see themselves in the season.
If you’ve seen the clip, you already know the vibe: “Ho ho HOLD UP! It’s Santa Q — FIRST on the BBG Christmas List!”
From family photos to school events, tree lightings, church programs, and neighborhood celebrations, Santa Q is booked, busy, and spreading representation all across the Mountain State. Kids light up when they see him. Parents get emotional. Communities celebrate feeling seen.
And this is just the beginning.
This holiday season, Black By God is uplifting Black-owned businesses across West Virginia — the makers, creators, entrepreneurs, and visionaries who bring culture, creativity, and economic power to our communities.
To kick off the campaign, Santa Q filmed a short video to introduce the series and himself — a joyful reminder that representation matters and holiday magic belongs to all of us. Now, BBG is proud to share our curated list of 10 Black-owned West Virginia businesses to support, shop with, and send viral this December.
West Virginians looking to gift wellness should explore Edith’s Health & Specialty Store in Lewisburg, home to teas, herbs, natural remedies, and all the holistic essentials that carry families through winter. Fashion lovers can shop with Jet Life Apparel in Charleston and Huntington, where high-quality streetwear and exclusive drops keep WV looking fresh and confident.
For book lovers, families, and thoughtful gifters, Renee Ecckles Hardy in Charleston offers a growing collection of books, journals, and inspirational writings that uplift Black Appalachian stories, faith, creativity, and personal growth. Her work makes meaningful gifts for readers of all ages.
Out East, Boujee Boards by Roz in Huntington offers a variety of custom charcuterie boards and more delivered to your door. Also in Morgantown, The WAX Bar & Face Lounge provides facials, waxing, and professional skincare services for anyone seeking holiday glow and new-year confidence.
In Martinsburg, Westwood Charm Boutique brings stylish, affordable clothing, jewelry, and accessories to shoppers who want to look good on purpose and on budget. Meanwhile in Dunbar, Tasha’s Uniforms serves nurses, CNAs, caregivers, and essential workers with high-quality scrubs and accessories — the perfect gift for the heroes who support our community every day.
And of course, the holiday joy wouldn’t be complete without Santa Q, who is still booking appearances across Charleston — from schools and community centers to private events and photo sessions — spreading magic and representation across the Kanawha Valley.
Finally, for art enthusiasts and anyone wanting beauty in their home or workspace, the 2026 Gardenn Art Calendar showcases twelve original acrylic paintings by the vibrant Appalachian artist Gardenn. Each month offers a new burst of color, imagination, and expression.
As we move through the season, BBG invites you to shop intentionally, share this guide widely, and support the Black Appalachian entrepreneurs who enrich our communities year-round.
