Right Wing Politicos and Right Wing Religions versus “Righteous Side Faith”

Governor Patrick Morrissey and members of the WV Legislature may want to listen to what Jesus said He will say to many who ignored the plight of the poor and thought they would get in to heaven. Many right wing politicians and right wing religious people are deceived into believing that right wing politics and right wing religion places them on God’s “Righteous Right Side”. Not necessarily so says Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus suggest that the true test of “Right Side Faith” is one’s treatment of the poor.

Matthew 25:41.46
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, to the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

I will be listening very closely on Wednesday, February 12th to Patrick Morrissey’s State of the State Address to see if he says anything about what he is going to do to address the following:

1. The over 300,000 WV’s living in poverty.
2. The over 50,000 disconnected youth ages 16-24 that are not in school and not working
3. The over 32,000 children that are suspended from school each year.
4. The over 6,000 children in WV’s Child Foster Care System.
5. The over 6,000 Children that appear before the Juvenile Court each year
6. The over 7000 prison inmates in WV’s overcrowded unsafe prison.
7. The distressed conditions in WV’s Coalfield Communities ,

However, I don’t plan to hold my breath

To all Christian Pastors, Ministers and Church members let’s make sure we are standing on the Right Side of Jesus with the truly Righteous.
