Y’all Ready for This Look? Because I Ate the WV Fashion Week Runway UP
By Jayli | Fashion Buzz Kid Correspondent | Black By God: The West Virginian

Over Memorial Day weekend, I hit the runway at the Charleston Town Center Mall — and let me tell you, it was even more exciting the second time around! With one show already under my belt, I showed up with more confidence, stronger poses, and even bigger energy.
I rocked two standout looks that made me feel like a superstar.
First up was a bold, futuristic outfit by Star Dreamers International. With vibrant colors and intergalactic vibes, I felt like I stepped onto a space-age runway. The lights, the beats, the crowd — it was a whole moment.
Then came a fierce, sparkly ensemble from Kerry at The Fab House. Her “Pieces of My Closet” collection brought all the sass and glam. When I hit the runway in her design, I felt like I was starring in my own music video. I twirled, I smiled, and I gave that catwalk some serious LIFE!
But let’s talk about this LOOK. I wore a bold pink high-low tulle skirt paired with a custom BBG-print top, styled by Kerry Wilkinson. The whole fit was giving main character energy.

Still, this show wasn’t just about me. WV Fashion Week was full of incredible talent — from designers like Star Dreamers International to fierce models of every shade, shape, and story. Some of my favorite moments were off the runway — talking to the people who make this magic happen. Like WV Fashion Week producer Rojen Morris, and my fellow models, including Neveah Harmon, 2023 Miss West Virginia USA.
WV Fashion Week reminded me that fashion isn’t just about clothes. It’s about telling your story without saying a word — and mine says: young, Black, Appalachian, and unstoppable.
So yes… I ATE. And trust me, I’m still hungry.
