Your Monthly Horoscopes For July 2026

If there was an astrologically informed motto for July 2026 it would be this: let’s get moving…but not just yet. 

Welcome to the first installment of my 2nd House Astrology’s monthly horoscope series and happy full Moon in Capricorn! I hope the spotlight that is the fullest expression of this month’s moonlight provided some crystal clear clarity about what is the reality, and what is illusion, or delusion, about at least one situation in your life (and that any hard pills to swallow were delivered with a soft, maternal touch in a way that only a full moon in Capricorn reflecting the light of the sun in Cancer can). 

But I’m getting ahead of myself. We haven’t even been properly introduced yet. My name is Jessica Lloyce. I am a Baltimore based astrologer who helps people gain greater self understanding (and get more of what they want out of life) by utilizing the millennia old tool known as astrology. In these monthly columns, I will be providing insight and guidance into the upcoming astrology of the next month and how it is most likely to affect you based on your birth chart. In addition to a general overview for everyone and sign specific readings  available below, these monthly astro check ins will also include reflection questions to help you navigate the themes that will be highlighted for you this month, as well as actions you can take to move in alignment with the astrology of the moment. Otherwise known as, how you can use astrology as a tool to open the doors you want unlocked and increase your chances of keeping the doors you want to stay closed, firmly shut. So let’s dive right in, shall we?

If you’re on astro-tok, threastrology, astrogram, or any other social media platform where astrologers go to share their latest “takes”, you’ll likely have seen many of us discussing how we are moving from water and earth being the overarching elemental themes, to air and fire energy taking center stage. This is because when Jupiter enters Leo on 6/30, the five slowest moving planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) that have the greatest capability to shape a larger spans of time than their five swifter moving planetary siblings (the Sun,the Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) will all be in either air or fire signs for the first time since a relatively brief moment in the late 1970s (and before that you’d have to go back at least four centuries). This is a major astrological realignment and since this configuration is still relatively new (with the first planetary shift being Pluto’s entrance into Aquarius in 2024), we’re just getting started.

The era of the internal (everyone seemingly being in their healing era, unabashed enjoyment being deemed “cringe”, and the proliferation of social media deep dives into why we can’t seem to get it together interpersonally and societally) that prioritized calm (or what some interpreted as a lack of aesthetic individuality or self expression that could be deemed “disruptive” such as the gradual replacement of bold colors in mainstream/celebrity/default make up and home decor with an abundance of beige living rooms, “clean girl aesthetic”, and trad wife ‘fits even amongst those who self identify as anything but)…is over. Welcome to Earth’s version of Rihanna’s Loud era. 

From how Minnesotans have become a non-violent army of neighbors that is committed to keeping their community members safe (hey Saturn and Neptune in Aries!); to the success of political candidates whose ideology is centered around improving the lives of their constituents vs fear mongering them into fighting horizontally within class boundaries as a means to stave off what would be a more earth shattering, societally restructuring, and financially dangerous for the 1% historical echo of a vertical class war (what’s up Pluto in Aquarius!); to Uranus in Gemini providing massive shake ups in whose digital highways we choose to drive on; we are moving from private contemplations of identity and morality to acting on our ideas (and our ideals) in a way that makes the world take notice. In this song of air and fire, we will see people adopt a “by any means necessary” approach to achieving (and maintaining)our collective and individual goals (even if we have to disturb someone else’s peace to do so). 

A big reason why this planetary alignment is such a big deal is because when planets are in fire and air signs, they are able to collaborate (or agitate) each other in a way that can feel like fanning each others’ flames. Right now Pluto in Aquarius is talking to Uranus in Gemini who is talking to Saturn and Neptune in Aries who are talking to Jupiter in Leo along with all the different micro-relationships that can exist between any two of these five planets hanging out in these four signs. This is not everyday astrology. This wildfire-esque planetary signature inspires movement (and movements). 

And you can already see how things are shifting from the height of the pandemic and the succeeding post-lockdown years. As the people yearn for community and to be outside, dating apps are being replaced by run clubs and club 1bd style events. Bonafide movie stars are returning to the big screen (an air/fire zodiacal combo loves to get swept up chasing shiny objects with outsized charisma) and the sound wave of the collective is transitioning from music for “brooding”, intimate nights , and spelunking the depths of our interiority (songs that likely received the majority of their streams in headphones or on solo car rides) to songs that provide a perfect soundtrack to you the “f*** it, we ball” mentality that is matching the freak of this moment’s planetary energy. Funky uptempo Bruno Mars is back and so are we! Whether by transit or natal placement, a collection of signatures in air and fire signs means that we win by acting on our ideas, our passion, and following (or bringing) the inspiration.  

But the day before we go one level deeper into the excitable air and fire sign dominant astrological mood, is the day (6/29) that puts yellow caution tape around all of our birth charts: Mercury retrograde is here again. Now before you panic, let’s make sure we’re all on the same page about what Mercury retrograde is and what it is not. It is not an excuse to purposefully shirk responsibilities (or not take accountability when a commitment is accidentally shirked). It is an invitation to explore what feelings arise when you’re made aware (either by yourself or others) that you’ve missed the mark (bonus points for if after identifying the feelings, you take the brave journey into understanding why these feelings are surfacing and take the even more courageous steps of figuring out how you’d like to better manage them moving forward). It is not a time to worry about what’s going to go wrong. It is an invitation to do an audit of the area of your life (represented by an astrological house in your birth chart) that contains Cancer, as this is the sign that Mercury will be retrograding through from 6/29 to 7/23. If you include the shadow period of Mercury’s retrograde cycle (think about it like reverberations of the official retrograde period) we’re in rough Cancer and Mercury territory from 6/12 to 8/6. This is not a time to panic. This is a time to proactively find any potential enemies of your progress first before they find you. This is a time to not get caught slipping, especially as it relates to what you say and how you say it since during this time our communications have the potential to become like a minefield to navigate without setting off any explosions that cause accidental (or purposeful) harm or provide incorrect data (or misread or misinterpret, correct information). As a reminder, this is happening in Cancer. Sensitivity and big feelings will be at an all time high. 

That said, though we are wading into murky (pardon the Cancerian pun) waters, the Mercury Cazimi in Cancer on 7/12 will help bring some clarity. A Cazimi is what happens when any given planet is at the exact same degree of a sign as the Sun. While Cazimi, it’s like that planet is being supercharged by the life sustaining power of the sun. But when Cazimis happen during a planet’s retrograde cycle, that direct astrological solar contact acts as a purifying agent to momentarily  burn off any retrograde induced fog (similar to the process of melting down mixed metals to reveal what’s truly precious and separate it from the impurities). If you need to do anything significant that falls within the domain of Mercury (technology; booking travel or traveling; communication in general but especially having important conversations or sending out significant communications where clarity around facts, details, or financial matters are of the utmost importance) or Cancer (heart to hearts that you anticipate being tense; anything relating to care taking such as filling prescriptions for aging parents or agreeing to babysit your niece for a weekend; or home repair or renovation) during this retrograde cycle, July 12th is the day to do it (or start the conversation about doing it) as it’s when we are more likely to be able to hear (and communicate) the signal through the noise. 

But July is a pretty unique month in that we get two different Cazimis this month. On 7/29 (the same day as the full moon in Aquarius that’s bound to remind us of our collective power against the oligarchs’ desire to hoard wealth and opportunity) there is a Jupiter Cazimi in Leo. This super duper Jupiter day will enhance and highlight themes of generosity, luck, empathy, philosophy/spirituality/religion, teaching/learning/higher education, optimism, and the ability to take leaps of faith that somehow just end up working out. But this cazimi is extra special because not only is it happening to a planet that is not in its retrograde cycle, but Jupiter will be getting infused with the power of the Sun while the brightest star in our known universe is happily shining in its home sign of Leo (so if you’re going to make solar magic, Leo season is one of the best times of the year to do it). As the Cazimi is happening in Leo, we can expect themes of self expression, artistry, creativity, the arts, physical intimacy, children, having a child-like spirit, courage, boldness, being seen, fun and the things we do just for fun, individuality, and of course, having a gorgeous mane, to be highlighted in headlines and/or in our personal lives. So here’s your assignment should you choose to accept it: the time is now to strategize how you will use these two powerful days. These days hold the potential for the significations of the Cazimi planets (and the significations of the signs they are traveling through) to be wielded like flamethrower (or a dragon, fire vomiting all things Mercurial on 7/12 and Jupiterian on 7/29) when you align your game plans with the themes of the house where this is happening in your birth chart (more on that below). 

The last big moments occurring in an already astrologically crowded month, is that the nodes are changing signs and Mars is conjoining Uranus. Since January of 2025 the North Node has been in Pisces ushering in the rapid increase in public discourse about mutual aid and interest in “alternative” spirituality (while seemingly providing a ramp up and/or an increase in the themes of the house in your birth chart that contains Pisces). During the same time frame, the South Node has been providing all of us a framework to review some of Virgo’s shadow side (perfectionism, nit-pickiness, compulsions, and obsessions with “cleanliness”) and evaluate how much of that is what we want/need to take with us into the future we are aiming to build. It’s been doing so all while, on a personal level, granting us opportunity after opportunity to let go of anything that is no longer serving us related to to the themes of the house in our birth chart that contains Virgo (Virgo risings, this could be outdated narratives around identity, Leo risings this could be unhealthy money mindsets, etc). For a few of you, this could have also played out as releasing a lot of content (Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet of words and communication after all), in the form of a book, an album, or become so consistent with the social media “releases” that it has become your full time job during this transit. But as of 7/26 we are closing the Virgo/Pisces axis story and beginning a new one on the Leo/Aquarius axis as the north node moves into collectively minded Aquarius and the south node transitions into individualistic Leo. 

But before we get to any of that, the first big move on the astrological calendar for July is that Mars (the planet of aggression, war, agitation, and inflammation, but also movement, courage, drive, independence, passion, and sometimes, separation), freshly in Gemini as of 6/28, will bump into Uranus (the planet of “woah what was that?!?!?” also known as the planet of disruption, break outs, breakdowns, and breakthroughs), also in Gemini (multifaceted, quick witted, crafty, intellectual, trickster energy), on July 4th. Though I expect there will be many celebrations happening on this day in certain areas of the world, if you want my astrological advice? Stay safe and stay inside.
