In Memoriam: Brady Carl Woods (d. July 22, 2026 )

Black By God honors the memory of Brady Carl Woods. Brady Carl Woods, “Nicknames: B-Woods, B-Dubb,” was born on December 21, 1975 in Welch, West Virginia and the son of Grady Woods Jr. and Gloria Jean Robinson Woods.

Growing up in Kimball, West Virginia, he had attended both First Baptist Church and Kimball Elementary School. He was a very proud 1994 graduate of Mount View High School. He enlisted in the US Army Air National Guard and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class AFC/E3.

B-Woods was employed at Goodwill in Bluefield, West Virginia. Hired as a sales clerk, his coworkers expressed he did far beyond those duties. He enjoyed cooking, listening to music, fishing, reading and shooting pool. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers’ fan.

Brady was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Jr., and Gloria; his son, Jalen and maternal grandparents, Carl and Ardella Robinson and paternal grandparents, Grady Sr. and Trannie Woods and several aunts and uncles. He departed this life on July 22, 2026 in Roanoke, Virginia, following a brief illness.

He will be lovingly missed by his children: :Breyanna Woods, Amir Powell, Irionna Poteat, and Brayanna Woods; his extended family: Sheron Younger and children, Da’Zhana and Sirr, and Jelani; his grandchildren: Chanin, Kendrick and Jaelynn; his devoted brothers: Ricardo J. Woods Sr., his twin, Grady D. (Karima) Woods Sr., and Joseph (Susan) Woods Sr., his aunts and uncles: Loretta Nowlin, Carl (Lucy) Lipscomb, Larry Robinson, Ronald (Cindy) Lipscomb and a host of beloved nephews, nieces and cousins; his many friends and coworkers.

Military Rites will be conducted by both the Virginia Army National & Honor Guard at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Southwest Virginia Veterans’ Cemetery, 5550 Bagging Plant Road in Dublin, Virginia. Interment will follow in Southwest Veterans’ Cemetery. Services entrusted to Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch, West Virginia.
