Upland Soul Food: Quickly Becoming a Community Favorite
Story and photos by Jamar Dunnigan
At Black By God, we love celebrating our favorite Black-owned businesses, and today, we’re shining a spotlight on Upland Soul Food, restaurant in Beckley, West Virginia that’s quickly becoming a community favorite.
The restaurant features the beloved family recipes of the Grandjean family. Co-owners Tamara Grandjean and Robert Dunlap bring their culinary heritage to life, serving up a variety of “soul food” favorites: fried chicken, meatloaf, collard greens, mac and cheese, and more.
“It’s comfort food,” Grandjean says. “Food that makes you feel good, happy.”
