Museum presents “Celebrating the Literary Arts” program

The African American Heritage Family Tree Museum located in Ansted, West Virginia is sponsoring an appreciation of the arts program at Hawks Nest State Park on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The event is titled “Celebrating the Literary Arts” and will bring together a variety of poets and other writers as well as singers and musicians for a day of entertainment and appreciation for the talented artists in the region. This program is intended to provide a day of artistic enjoyment for the community and show our appreciation of the writers and musical artists amongst us.

The following Poets, Authors, Song writers, & Musicians will perform: Kirk Judd, Angela Jones, George Walberg, Joseph Bundy, Jennifer Boyd, Hzal Anubewei, Janet Furst-Walberg, Eric Jordan aka Monstalung, Edwina Pendarvis, Sherrell Wigal, Lionel Jordan aka 6’6’’ 240, Brucella Jordan, Linda Ealy, Myana Mosley and Carol Stewart. The program will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 6:00 p.m. There is no fee, but registration is required. Please sign in on arrival between 10:00 a.m. and-10:45 a.m. As part of this event there will also be a Spoken Word Contest officiated by 6’6’’ 240 during the latter part of the day; 5:15 p.m.-6:00 p.m. First Prize = $100.00, Second Prize=$50.00, 3^rd Prize =$25.00.
