Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium was founded to address the funding gap impacting Black women and girls across the South. To date, the organization has awarded more than $11 million in funding to organizations across Southern states, helping strengthen communities and create opportunities.

This Charleston stop will highlight the importance of creating spaces where Black girls and women can be seen, celebrated, supported, and empowered. The event will feature opportunities for community engagement, conversations, interactive experiences, and resources designed to uplift and connect the community.

This is more than an event—it is part of a larger regional movement focused on investing in the future of Black girls and women and creating opportunities for them to thrive.

The Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium has invested millions of dollars in organizations serving Black girls and women across the South, making the Joy & Justice Tour important for  community investment, leadership, empowerment, and social impact.

The event will take place on Sat., Aug. 22 beginning at 1 p.m.,  at the North Charleston Recreation Center, 2009 7th Ave in Charleston.
